Popular Australian groups Parkway Drive and The Amity Affliction have both received recognition for recent musical efforts, with the pair each nominated for an ARIA award following today’s nominee announcement.

Popular Australian groups Parkway Drive and The Amity Affliction have both received recognition for recent musical efforts, with the pair each nominated for an ARIA award following today’s nominee announcement.


The local bands are finalists in this year’s ‘Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Album’ category for their respective efforts, ‘Deep Blue’ and ‘Youngbloods’.

"We just got word that we have been nominated for an ARIA Award! Best Hard Rock Performance. As long as we beat Airbourne..." The Amity Affliction tweeted shortly after the announcement.


Joining the acts in the aforementioned category are fellow bands, Dead Letter Circus (‘This is the Warning’), Airbourne (‘No Guts, No Glory’) and Violent Soho (‘Violent Soho’).


“Australia’s kings of heavy have delivered a trophy sufficient in keeping arenas packed out and growing for the years to come,” Killyourstereo wrote about ‘Deep Blue’ previously.


Also having the following to say about ‘Youngbloods’: “Youngbloods is a perfectly crafted work of its genre. It’s more original, genuine, catchy, heavy and consistent than any similar act whether domestic or international.”


ARIA award winners will be announced at a ceremony on Sunday, November 7th at the Sydney Opera House.
