Despised Icon announce Australian tour

Canadian deathcore giants Despised Icon are set to hit Australian shores for the first time.

The tour to Australia will sadly be a part of the band's final world tour before they split. Formed in 2002 the Montreal six-piece have become a major force in contemporary death metal. With six releases under their belts and having toured the world with the likes of The Black Dahlia Murder, Behemoth, Hatebreed and Parkway Drive, Despised Icon have decided to call it quits.

“It’s hard to believe we started this band almost 10 years ago already. At first, Despised Icon was mostly just an excuse to hang out, write brutal slam riffs and play local shows once in a while,” says the band of their break up. “With your support, we got the opportunity to actually play music for a living, make friends around the world, be MVPs and travel to places we never even dreamed of visiting in our lifetime.”

They will be joined on the nation-wide tour by some of the biggest names in Australian metal, Melbourne's The Red Shore and Sydney's Thy Art Is Murder. 

The band said of their forthcoming Aussie tour, “These last shows will be fucking epic! See you guys then!”
