Slipknot drummer confirms band will continue

Following the death of Slipknot bassist, Paul Gray in May, the state and future of the Iowa masked metal band has appeared uncertain to the casual observer.

Although, the group is currently on hiatus (irrespective of Gray‘s passing), with the pending release of side project albums, namely Stone Sour and Murderdolls, drummer Joey Jordison has declared the group still intends to start writing music again in 2012.

Speaking at the recent Mayhem Festival, Jordison responded to the following question posed by Rockstar Mayhem’s Juliya, as such:

Juliya: You mentioned at the Golden Gods that there would be new Slipknot in 2012. Is that still an option…

Jordison: Absolutely. I just want to thank all the fans for the support about the loss. But there will be another record for sure.
