The Push and FReeZACentral are seeking a local band from each area to play the opening support spot at each of their Escape To Oz all ages launch shows with House Vs Hurricane, Confession and Heroes For Hire:

Friday 27 August @ EV’s Croydon with Ayera (7pm)


Saturday 28 August @ West Geelong Town Hall with The Deep End (7pm)


Sunday 29 August @ Wodonga Civic Centre with Legacy (2pm)


Keen bands should email a bio (including hometown, ages of band members, and links to where music can be listened to online) via freezacentral@thepush.com.au by 5pm Monday 9 August. Winners will be announced on Friday, 13 August. At least one band member must live/work/recreate in the town or surrounding area the tour is visiting, and be under 25 years of age. Bands that fit the bill – e.g. hardcore, rock, metal, prog, emo, punk - are urged to apply!.


FReeZACentral is part of Victoria Rocks, a Victorian Government initiative, and is managed by The Push and Mushroom Marketing to help budding young artists kick start their music careers.


Tickets for the shows are on sale now through Oztix.com.au or Oztix outlets for $16 + booking fee.


FReeZACentral annually pairs 50 young Victorians with music industry mentors across five streams including performance, technical production, event management, music business and marketing and publicity. On top of getting learning from a music industry mentor, the mentees release a CD, work on festivals and organise a tour.
