Homme also stated 'The music is gonna go further down that strange and lovely path of [2007’s] Era Vulgaris.'

The record is set to be released around the middle of 2011, but in the meantime the band will be releasing a re-issue of their 2000 record Rated-R including live tracks, b-sides and covers of Carly Simon’s “You’re So Vain” and The Kinks “Who’ll Be the Next in Line?".
