Autopsy results have confirmed that the death of Slipknot bassist Paul Gray, was due to an accidental overdose of morphine and fentanyl, a synthetic morphine substitute.

Autopsy results have confirmed that the death of Slipknot bassist Paul Gray, was due to an accidental overdose of morphine and fentanyl, a synthetic morphine substitute.


Gray was found dead inside a hotel room in Iowa on May 25, but the cause of his death has only just been revealed to the general public.

So far there has been no evidence has been found showing Gray had a prescription for the drugs, police spokesman Sgt. Dave Disney said:


"There is no evidence that a doctor prescribed either one of those substances."


Gray was also found to have "significant heart disease", according to a statement on the autopsy


The band's record label Roadrunner Records, has so far made no comment on the situation and said that there would be no official comment from the company or band until one is posted on the band's website.
