The Dillinger Escape Plan are taking a stand against Canada's annual commercial seal slaughter by appearing in a new print ad for Peta2, the world's largest youth animal rights organisation. The ad features The Dillinger Escape Plan posing on stage behind the words 'In Canada every year, the government allows sealers to kill hundreds of thousands of seals for their fur. Raise Your Voice.' Guitarist Benjamin Weinman recently spoke about the subject on the band’s twitter: "End the Slaughter (not the band that sang Fly to the angels) Get involved. Trust me. Slaughtering Seals is not metal!" Those who picked up a copy of the band’s most recent album, “Option Paralysis”, might have also noticed the ad tucked into the CD’s packaging. The Dillinger Escape Plan are currently touring Australia.
