Splendour In The Grass sideshows announced

July's massive Splendour In The Grass festival sold out in mere hours this morning, while festival organisers released sideshow information amidst the ticketing chaos.

Internet forums and message boards were flooded with complaints about the notoriously unreliable Moshtix ticketing system used by Splendour, with many reports that users were continually disconnected from the queue system used by the Moshtix website.

The 20,000 camping tickets were snapped up in less than four hours, while the allocation of the 10,000 remaining event-only passes were exhausted by 2pm this afternoon.

In better news for those who missed out - or who couldn't justify the $450 price tag for tickets - several sideshows were also announced this morning.

Acts including Foals, Passion Pit and Jonsi (of Sigur Ros fame) will play dates mostly in Melbourne and Sydney, with festival organisers also promising that more sideshows are to be announced soon.

Tickets for all sideshows go on sale Friday, May 14th.
