Perth band Gyroscope have attacked former label Warner Music for releasing a "Best of Gyroscope" compilation without their approval.

Gyroscope was only made aware of the unauthorised release when their fans notified the band on Facebook and the band posted an official press release on their website voicing their opinion on the CD.

"The song selection, artwork and everything about this release has been done without consultation with the band."

"Gyroscope are a band who have always put our fans first. In our opinion, the release of this album without consultation with the band, and without including any material from our new album ‘Cohesion’, does not represent good value for our fans."

It is unclear what further action will be taken by the band.
