There are strong reports doing the rounds that Behemoth vocalist Adam 'Nergal' Darski has been formally charged for insulting Roman Catholics.

There are strong reports doing the rounds that Behemoth vocalist Adam 'Nergal' Darski has been formally charged for insulting Roman Catholics.


The charge stems from comments made in 2007 when Darski referred to the church as "the most murderous cult on the planet."

Noisecreep reports: "Nergal is pleading not guilty to the charge, which stems from the 2007 incident. It was the desecration of the Bible that attracted the attention of Ryszard Nowak, who heads the All-Polish Committee for Defense Against Sects. Nowak later sued the band for promoting Satanism."


Currently the charge can result in up to two years imprisonment.
