Swedish melodic death metal titans Soilwork have posted an update regarding the progress of their new album 'The Panic Broadcast'.

Guitarist Dirk Verbeuren recently provided the following update on Decibel Magazine's website:

Howdy guys ’n gals,

Don't miss a beat with our FREE daily newsletter

We’re now well into our 5th week of recording The Panic Broadcast and everyone’s in great spirits. Speed started tracking vocals yesterday for what’ll definitely become one of his most epic performances to date… That’s right, the man didn’t forget his amazing voice in Sweden… With a batch of songs this colorful (sic), expect nothing but total catchiness and raw vocal power at the highest degree!

Rhythm guitars are mostly done, Peter and Sylvain’s tight-as-hell riffing makes us grin at every listen. Flink’s bass lines are 100% pure Flink and Sven spawned loads of entrancing keyboard lines that really add a new dimension to the songs. Seriously, this is quite the inspired batch of SOILWORK tunes, from doomy to ultra-fast to groovy and packed to the brim with crazy guitar solos!

The Mooresville, NC house is spacey, comfy and surrounded by great scenery for our photographer Hannah Verbeuren to capture some damn sweet band shots. We’ve also been working on cover art ideas; it’s too early still to know what’ll end up gracing the record, but Speed’s elaborate lyrical concept is a perfect breeding ground for graphics galore.

So that’s where things are at! Only 12 days to go and still on schedule. Tons of hard work interrupted only by frequent food binges and the occasional Wii tennis tournament. Confidence and excitement reign as the inspiration flows… You better believe it baby: SOILWORK is back!!!
