Closure in Moscow will have a bit of unexpected free time over the next week or so, after apparently being "relieved" of their playing duties on the upcoming Soundwave festival.

The group - the only Australian band on the stellar Soundwave festival line-up, and who recently re-located to the USA to further their career - were due to open the main stage on each leg of the festival.

Soundwave organisers have said that "revised timetables will be released shortly". It is not known whether an additional band will be added to the line-up, or whether existing acts will simply be given additional playing time.

REVISION: The festival's Twitter page announced that "will be no replacement band for this late withdrawal" - so it would be safe to say that punters hanging around at Stage 1 will be enjoying slightly longer set lists from featured bands.

The Soundwave website had this to say earlier today:

"It is amazing how the one band you book on the festival only as a favour to their manager; whom you are paying 10 times what they are worth as a gesture of goodwill; and you bill way above their station, turn out to be the only demanding and rude people amongst a star-studded line up.

Here are some tips for other local bands hoping to keep a spot on a national festival:

1.Having a band member call the festival admin manager 2 days out from the festival with a new list of demands and being aggressive, rude and yelling at her only works if you are holding hostages.

2. Don't demand that festival vehicles and drivers pick band members up from their homes and then drop them off after the festival. Specially if you live on an island off the Gold Coast!

3. Don't demand that the festival should book and pay for your accommodation on top of the $25,000 you're being paid to pay for your own lodgings.

Revised timetables will be posted shortly."

Soundwave kicks off this Saturday in Brisbane, before moving on to Sydney on Sunday.
