Jimmy Eat World To Replace My Chemical Romance at Soundwave 2010

Rumours that circulated early this week about headliners My Chemical Romance dropping off the Soundwave 2010 lineup have now been confirmed.

They will be replaced by emo rockers Jimmy Eat World and will also be playing on the already massive sidewave with GLASSJAW, SUNNY DAY REAL ESTATE, MOTION CITY SOUNDTRACK AND RX BANDITS.

My Chemical Romance singer Gerard Way has been having severe vocal problems and is under doctor's advisement to forgo the tour in order to receive treatment for his throat and vocal chords.

Way said, “We are really sorry that we’ve had to cancel this tour, and apologise for any inconvenience it has caused,” says singer Way. “The last thing we ever want to do is cancel shows, but we’ll be back to Australia to make it up to the fans as soon as possible.”

According to soundwavefestival.com patrons holding tickets to the MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE show at the Big Top, Luna Park on Thu 25 Feb are advised to contact their point of purchase to arrange a full refund of their tickets.
