Erik Estavillo, of California, is suing the creators of Warcraft because he feels that the game made him feel “removed from real life”, and have used “sneaky and deceitful practises” in attracting people to the game itself.

Estavillo believes that Gore should be asked to give evidence before the Court, because the Depeche Mode guitarist is well-versed in feelings of sadness, melancholy and alienation “as can be seen in the songs he writes".

Actress Winona Ryder has also been asked to testify.

Estavillo has previously pursued similar lawsuits against Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo, all of which have been unsuccessful.
