Melbourne hardcore band Samsara have parted ways with their drummer Tim Shearman. Since joining Samsara four years ago Tim was involved in the writing and recording of their debut full-length The Emptiness (Trial & Error Records) as well as countless tours throughout Australia.

Since joining local metal outfit The Red Shore earlier this year it had become apparent that Tim wouldn't be able to give both bands the attention they deserved, and given The Red Shore's active touring schedule and recent signing to US label Rise Records Samsara feel the decision is in the best interest of both parties.

Samsara would like to thank Tim for all his hard work, friendship and humour over the past four years.

Following on from Tim's departure, Samsara would like to welcome Matt Woodhouse to the fold. "Woody" joins the group having previously played in Melbourne punk/hardcore act Face Eater and more recently, Geelong Thrash/Metal outfit Tenth Dan. The band are incredibly excited about the new addition to the line-up, which can now focus on writing and recording their next album, which is due in the first half of 2010.
