DJ/producer extraordinaire Diplo will be lending a hand on the next release from British noise makers Rolo Tomassi. Club guru Diplo (pictured) will be taking the production reigns for the bands next release in what seems to be a bit of a strange partnership.

Rolo Tomassi will be gracing Australian shores for next years Soundwave festival. Diplo will also be coming down under to play the falls festival under the guise of his little project with DJ pal Switch called Major Lazer. One wonders if he will drop any Rolo Tomassi into his DJ sets?

In other odd ‘cross genre’ news, LA party starter Steve Aoki, who is in the country blowing up dancefloors as we speak with his hard electro anthems, has started a ‘hardcore’ band with Bobby Rifo from The Bloody Beetroots. Aoki spoke with Triple J the other day and had this to say… "We call it Rifoki, which is our last names combined. I play it in my sets and same with Bloody Beetroots, they play it in their sets too. Like right in the middle of the four on the floor hard electro tracks. We just drop it right in the middle." No word on if and when Rifoki will actually release any material. You can check out Rifoki here

Aoki is currently working on his first album of original tracks which features some big names like Will.I.Am, Kid Cudi, and Daft Punk collaborator Romanthony. It’s due for release some time next year.
