Daylight Australian tour

Australians should brace themselves as Daylight bring their mixture of emo, punk, and rock to the country this October. The Pennsylvanian quartet is a perfect mixture of teen angst, 90s emo, and post-hardcore instrumentation, creating a sound that leaves you wanting more.

Drawing on bands such as Sunny Day Real Estate, Mineral, Christie Front Drive, Benton Falls, and I Hate

Myself, Daylight's freshly released EP was written and recorded by the band in one of their own studios.

Their demo has been described as punk rock drenched in tears by critics, which guitarist Taylor says couldn't be more true.

"I think it's fairly obvious when listening to our songs what the general bulk of the content is based around. I write my lyrics about the way I feel every single day. I do not like my life and I am not a happy person"

Far from being amateurs, all four band members- John, Taylor, Joe, and Jake- have been playing in bands for years but Daylight was a chance for a new sound with all four of them agreeing that bands they have played in previously haven't influenced their current music.

Drawing on real life experience, but avoiding stereotypes like girls, means Daylight avoids the pop flavoured sound favoured by emo bands today.

The band can't wait to hit Australian shores and bring the anger, power, and awkwardness of their live shows to fans.

Daylight promises more recordings and a hell of a lot of touring in the coming year.
