On Tuesday (4/7) afternoon, Bay Area Green Day fans learned the band would be playing a small club show that very night, in advance of next month's release of 21st Century Breakdown. At the concert, Green Day proceeded to not just debut some of the new material, but perform the record from start to finish in its entirety for the first time ever. Billie Joe Armstrong told the audience that the band was "sick of playing these songs to one another," so they decided to take them to the people.

Playing in front of approximately 500 fans, Green Day opened with their classic "Welcome To Paradise" before diving into the entire new album. The band played 30 songs in total, with the show split into two sets. After playing 21st Century Breakdown, Green Day played a second set mixing hits such as "American Idiot," "She" and "Longview" with some of their earliest songs, including "Who Wrote Holden Caulfield?," "Christie Road" and "Going To Pasalacqua."

The first single from 21st Century Breakdown, "Know Your Enemy," will arrive at radio next Thursday, April 16. The album will be released Friday, May 15. A limited edition of the record has just been announced, with each "act" on its own 10" vinyl record, along with a 60-page book and a CD copy as well.
