Down to begin recording next album in October

Down — the New Orleans band that features Corrosion Of Conformity guitarist/vocalist Pepper Keenan, drummer Jimmy Bower (Eyehategod, Superjoint Ritual guitarist), bassist Rex Brown (ex-Pantera), guitarist Kirk Windstein (Crowbar), and vocalist Philip Anselmo (Superjoint Ritual, ex-Pantera) — have issued an update on progress towards their next album and a documentary:

"We’re in the final stages of the documentary and it should be out soon. After the European festivals, we’re planning one more run of select markets in The States from August to September. Then we are headed back to the studio for October through December to record what will eventually become [the fourth Down album]." The band last released "Down III: Over the Under" in 2007, which marked its first set of new material since 2002’s "Down II: A Bustle in Your Hedgerow".

Local Down fans assume that "Down IV" might be the title of their next album.
