August Burns Red's steady climb up the ranks of metal's future pioneers began with an auspicious start via the release of 2007's Messengers, an album which not only debuted at number 81 on the Billboard Top 200, but has gone on to sell 76,000+ copies since its release.

August Burns Red's steady climb up the ranks of metal's future pioneers began with an auspicious start via the release of 2007's Messengers, an album which not only debuted at number 81 on the Billboard Top 200, but has gone on to sell 76,000+ copies since its release.
Even as August Burns Red celebrates its breakthrough with the release of a collection of B-sides and Outtakes from the Messengers sessions entitled Lost Messengers: The Outtakes, the band simultaneously looks forward as it begins recording the as-of-yet untitled third full-length album with producer Jason Suecof, the man behind the curtain of heralded albums by bands like Sevendust, All That Remains, God Forbid, and Trivium.
ABR prepared Lost Messengers as a record for the diehard fans, a mix of new songs, cover songs (such as the band's well-known take on "Carol Of The Bells," which was utilized heavily in television and online spots for Frank Miller's film The Spirit) and unheard production demos, all wrapped up in a package containing hand-written notes from the band explaining the thought process and/or lyrical content behind each song, further personalizing the connection between band and fan.
With its next full-length release, August Burns Red looks forward to welcoming even more friends and listeners into the fold. To that end, August Burns Red is currently streaming the behind-the-scenes goings-on as it records its new album at Suecoff's "Audio Hammer" studio in Orlando, FL, which can be streamed here.

"Stickam has been a great tool for allowing fans to check in our progress," explains guitarist JB Brubaker. "It's one more way to help break down the disconnect that is usually there between band and fans, and that is something that is making this process even more exciting!"
It's not just the band that is excited either. Over 500 fans are currently following the band's activities in the studio – a noteworthy point when considering the relative newness of ABR's Stickam site.
Never ones to take a breather, ABR will be making two high-profile appearances while recording the forthcoming full-length, first at the Dubai Desert Rock Festival in the United Arab Emirates on March 6 – performing alongside the likes of Motorhead, Arch Enemy, and Opeth – followed by the renowned New England Metal and Hardcore Fest in Worcester, MA on April 17th.
