Competition two
is heating up! UncharTED is now in its semi-finals stage, bringing the
bands that much closer to the killer prize! Tooheys Extra Dry uncharTED
is giving the winning band the chance to play a live set at Australia’s
premier winter festival, Splendour In The Grass. The winning band will
play along side international superstars Devo, Tricky, Sigur Ros, and homegrown heroes Wolfmother, The Living End and Pnau.
Not
only will this unsigned band play to crowds of over 20,000 people, they
will score themselves a hot ‘do it yourself’ indie music package
including studio time, management mentoring and legal consultancy –
worth a cool $20,000.
The line up is fierce so it’s up to you to go to www.uncharted.com.au and
decide who is worthy of wearing the comp two crown! The public pool
comprises of, Teqwin, Pressure Radio, MC Krishool and Emporium. The
media pool includes Here Come The Birds, Aplonea, The Take and The Josh
Owen Band.
Melbourne’s Josh Owen, along with his
band, have been picked by Community Radio to be in the uncharTED
semi-finals. Dubbing themselves as Reggae/Roots/Blues/Indie, their
musical flavour can perhaps be summed up as "Soul". Their debut album
was released in 2005, selling out and gaining airplay across the
country.
