pioneers LIFETIME tour Australia for the first time ever this December

with special guests MILES AWAY. Worthy local bands have been added to
the lineup in each state to round out the shows.
On December 2 at Rosemount Hotel in Perth hardcore act Breakeven and melodic pop favorites Calerway fill the support slots.
At Fowlers in Adelaide on December 4 acclaimed rockers Mere Theory and energetic punk band The Rip have been added to the show.
On December 5 at Club 299 in Brisbane locals Say Nothing and three-piece speed punks Stolen Bikes Ride Faster join the bill.
Sydney punks Rex Banner and hyped Woolongong hardcore band Mary Jane Kelly will be sharing the state with LIFETIME and MILES AWAY on December 6 at the Manning Bar in Sydney.
After just returning from a US tour A Death In The Family and local punk rockers MDK round out the show at the last show of the tour at the Corner Hotel in Melbourne on December.
After
what seems like an eternity, Australia will finally have the chance to
experience a live show like no other as one of the most influential,
revered bands in modern day punk rock, LIFETIME, make their first ever
trip to Australia this December.
Originally
forming in New Jersey in the early '90s, the legendary LIFETIME had the
dubious honor of watching most of its peers fall off or fade away.
Rather than wallowing in nostalgia, like fellow celebrated musicians,
the band became its own boss, reinventing its sound and leaving the
hardcore by-the-rules scene to decide for itself. Many since have
decided to further explore LIFETIME’s pop-punk blueprint and this has
proven something to be thankful for, although few compare to the real
thing.
By the time
of the group's demise in the late 1990s, LIFETIME had redefined
underground music in the States, and across the globe, steering it
towards a progressive transition from the punk of yesteryear. But they
are back. Their reunion in 2005 excited fans around the world and
sparked much hope, bringing the seemingly extinct legends back into the
center of their scene.
LIFETIME’s fan base includes members of
New Found Glory, Saves The Day, Taking Back Sunday and Fall Out Boy. In
fact, Fall Out Boy bass player and owner of Decaydance Records, Pete
Wentz signed the band in 2006 and said, “I am very excited to be a
part of the future of LIFETIME. Fall Out Boy would not be a band or
have the sound that we do if it wasn't for them. I think it is
important to for everyone to hear another Lifetime record.”
LIFETIME’s
self-titled release (and first in over 10 years!) was released in USA
on Decaydance / Fueled By Ramen and although they’ve been away for so
long, still displays the youthful energy and passion for which they’re
renowned. The album has also scored a local release on indie Boomtown
due October 13.
West
Coast hardcore punk outfit MILES AWAY will be joining LIFETIME on their
maiden Australian tour. Having completed several trips across the
country, signed to legendary hardcore label Bridge Nine and traveled to
Asia and the US, MILES AWAY will be more than capable of holding their
own.
LIFETIME will bring the blend of punk rock they created to Australia for the first time ever. Do not miss out!
