They are the hottest property in New York City not to be owned by that insufferable prick Donald Trump; they have the finest indie/hip hop cross breed album of the last decade; one of the hottest singles of the year in Cupid’s Chokehold and they are on their way to Australia. Ladies and gentlemen, get ready for Gym Class Heroes. Gym Class Heroes have added two very special sideshows to their busy touring schedule whilst in Australia in support of pop mega-star Gwen Stefani.
Releasing their debut album ‘For the Kids’ independently in 2001, they toured non-stop, living on the road and building up both a fanbase and a repertoire. Their 2005 album, The Papercut Chronicles and its deeply personal lyricism and inventive sonic vision caught the attention of Decaydance founder Pete Wentz, who promptly signed Gym Class Heroes to the Decaydance/Fueled By Ramen roster which resulted in the recent release of their career-defining album As Cruel As School Children.
Gym Class Heroes spend most of their time doing what they do best – playing live! They have headlined sold out tours of The U.S and Europe, lit up the Vans Warped Tour, and traveled the world with bands such as Fall Out Boy and Dashboard Confessional. This will be Australia’s first time to be part of the phenomenon.
