SEVENDUST releases its sixth studio album today (Tuesday, March 6), called "Alpha". While the band considers the disc a fresh beginning, and one meaning of the term "alpha" is "first," drummer Morgan Rose told Launch that's not exactly what the group had in mind when it titled the record. "I like the idea but that isn't why it's called 'Alpha'," he said. "It's basically called 'Alpha' because the record has a conceptual feel to it and it's the good and evil side of one's mind and which one is the stronger. But we are definitely looking at this as a new start in a bunch of different ways."

The first single from "Alpha" is called "Driven".

Rose recently told Launch that some of the album's lyrical content was fueled by his divorce, as well as his father's and his own drug-related arrests last year.

The band is making its third record in a row on a different label, with its two previous CDs coming out on TVT and Winedark respectively
