More 28 Days More 28 Days

28 Days' slot at tonight's Gingerfest was interrupted mid-set when the venue hosting the event was evacuated due to a fire breaking out.

The music festival, held in honour of late punk music identity Nicholas Sofer-Schreiber (aka The Ginger Ninja), was taking place at The Factory Theatre when the fire started in the main room.

Witnesses report that a speaker blew up early in 28 Days set, which then caught on fire.

Security moved fast to clear the room and extinguish the flames.

28 Days singer Jay Dunne told theMusic.com.au, "The speaker blew up, security came in with a fire extinguisher and put it out, and everyone had to leave.

"It means we unfortunately don't get to finish our set."

It is yet uncertain if headliners The Snowdroppers will be able to go ahead with their set in the same room tonight.

[UPDATE] 28 Days have been rescheduled to finish their set on the upstairs stage. The Snowdroppers will play their set in that room as well.
