Well, what do you know about that, folks? The Album Of The Year for 2019 had already been announced! Dropping on February 8th, 2019, Health's fourth record, labelled 'Vol 4: Slaves Of Fear', is the long-awaited follow-up to 2015's magnificent 'Death Magic' LP. To say that I'm over the moon in terms of excitement would be a severe understatement. Everyone else may as well pack in it right now.

This album news and the release of the American trio's upcoming LP's gnarly, well-produced title track follows three collaborative singles from Health and friends. The massive yet darkened hooks of 'Mass Grave', made with Purity Ring's Corin Roddick and Soccer Mommy was a real winner, as was the fucking intensive styles of 'Body/Prison', created with Perturbator as the pair took metal-driven synthwave to new extremes. Although, the guitar-driven and underground-hardcore sounds of their collab with Youth Code, 'Innocence', didn't quite live up to the hype, it also wasn't a total write-off either.

However, 'Slaves Of Fear', their latest song, is pure and classic Health through and through. From the pulsating drum beats, blood-pumping rhythms, distorted array of sounds, blaring high-fidelity synths, wicked production, soothing and atonalish vocal hooks, to the delay-heavy guitar figures and their killer tones make for a truly incredible piece. I'd even go as far as to say that in terms of anticipation and composition, this is perhaps one of the most glorious tracks Health have ever crafted to date. So yeah, I fucking love it!

I also love how at the end of the 'Slaves Of Fear' music video, it lists bassist John Famiglietti's actual phone number. None of that pre-recorded promo shit here, my friends. Just the real dude that you can potentially talk with should you get him on the line.

Anyway, shatter the chains of fear and kill off numbness below. February 8th, 2019 - save the date. You will love each other
