I love Jacob and I sincerely hope that you do too.

There is just so much warmth, honesty and charm to what Newcastle-Wollongong emo-revival outfit, Jacob, produce. This was smeared all over their lively, infectious previous single, 2017's 'How Long Until You're Next To Me?', and was a huge factor in my admiration of said track. Why it's chorus skirts back into my mind from time to time. Ever consistent, this is also the well-written, burning core of the group's upbeat, animated, yet still love-sick new single, 'Baby, I'm A Blockhead'.

Taken from the NSW quartet's upcoming second album, 'Show Me Some Passion' - which is set to land November 2nd via their new label-home, Resist Records - Jacob just nail everything about past and current indie/emo/alternative sounds. To watch this band grow from the Motion City Soundtrack and Wonder Years vibes of their first LP, 'keep growing old', into creating songs like this is honestly so fucking exciting. Something really tells me that there won't be any lack of passion with this new LP. ("Oh look, he made the really obvious pun, yay!")

With a song and music video packed full of references to New Kids On The Block ("Please Don't Go Girl" being the big one), Jacob definitely don't take themselves too seriously here. Despite the bittersweet and yearning lyricism that guides their killer hooks, melodic riffs and sweet choruses into life. It's all catchy, playful, solid stuff. Listen to it below, ya blockhead:
