Launching last year and dropping their debut EP, 'Minds Taken', back in November, Melbourne nu-metal/hardcore act Skorched aren't slowing their pace anytime soon with the release of their latest single this week - 'Bury You Breathing'. A fancier way of saying "Buried Alive", the stomping riffs, dual-vocal delivery and no-fucks-given attitude of 'Bury You Breathing' is Skorched right down to a T; bouncy rhythms, tight flow, face masks and all.

Just as this new track's lyrics indicate in the verses, the up and coming band will never make any apologies for their sound, their image nor their respective personalities. Death before compromise, basically. In fact, one of Skorched's anonymous members dolled out this manifesto not just about this single, but also of the band's ethos moving forward, with this recent statement:

"New single "Bury You Breathing" is essentially a song about ourselves, as self-involved as that may come across. It’s very much a statement that we are here to deliver our own take on the music that has deeply influenced and shaped us all individually, which continues to influence us to this day. Put simply, Bury you Breathing is a mission statement of sorts that we are confident and we are coming. Obviously with the recent resurgence of Nu Metal, and Nu Metal somewhat engraining itself into other aspects of heavy music, this song speaks to how this is something that never left our musical blood and we aren’t merely jumping on a "flavour of the week" for a cheap attempt at popularity. We are here to stay - regardless of how loved or laughed at we may be during the process."

So if you fuck with it, get right down the front for 'Bury You Breathing'. And if you don't, well... y'all know where the door is.
