Code Orange are still forever.

Drop B riffs forever.

Recorded with renowned producer Will Yip, 'The Hurt Will Go On' EP is Code Orange's first new release since their Grammy-nominated third record, the rather solid 'Forever'. With a front cover very remiss of that Full of Hell & Merzbow collab LP, 'The Hurt Will Go On' (a title inspired from their song, 'Hurt Goes On'), sees Code Orange playing at their most pure and direct. You won't find any long-winded and meandering sections like on 'The Mud' with these fresh songs, no sir!

First track off the block, '3 Knives' is Code Orange at their most lethal in a two-minute dosage; cutting out all the filler from 2017's 'Forever' and going straight for the throat a la songs like 'No One Is Untouchable' or the savage-as-fuck 'Kill The Creator'. Keeping people on their toes, the band even ends the track with a sample of Duran Duran's 'Hungry Like The Wolf', namely the lyric "I'm on the hunt, I'm after you". Which fittingly leads right into the next original song here, 'The Hunt'.

With plenty of wicked mosh parts, glitchy electronics, tough and filthy guitar riffs, industrial influences creeping in harder, and a guest feature from Corey Taylor where he sounds like his older angrier self, 'The Hunt' is Code Orange sharpening their metalcore-industrial sound even further. Then we get a remix of 'Hurt Goes On', courtesy of the band’s own guitarist and vocalist, Eric "Shade" Balderose, further honing his production skills since his alt-J remixes from 2017.

In the lead up to the release of this new EP, Code Orange launched an online game dubbed "The Hunt," with successful participants who bested a series of cryptic challenges receive a custom-made Code Orange panther USB loaded with 'The Hurt Will Go On'. On top of that, the USB also came with two exclusive remixes from drumcorps and metal's go-to producer lately, Arthur Rizk (which you can find online with some brief digging - they're both fuckin' sick), as well as the first installment of a documentary entitled My World, which will hopefully hit the digital realm soon enough so we all can bask in it's heavy glow.
