New single 'Scapegoat' has us very excited about this upcoming Palm record.

Straight up, I had no clue who Palm were when they popped up in my news feed the other day; with news about this Japanese band putting out new music. Like all of the best shit you find on Facebook, it's often because a friend or a page you follow shared the original post, serendipitously putting it in front of your own eyes. Palm's latest offering was a fine example of just this. (Cheers Zuckerburg, your algorithms did well for once).

Curing my ignorance about who this band was, I hit play on the group's latest track, 'Scapegoat'. And simply put, I wish I'd heard of these guys sooner! This first cut from Palm's new album is an extreme, 1:50 hardcore song that's a wild shot of adrenaline hooked right up to your veins. I often find that a lot of Japanese bands are cut from a different/better cloth than bands out here in Australia, and Palm is no different.

The four-piece's cheerily titled new 12-track LP, 'To Live Is To Die, To Die Is To Live' drops on August 31st in Australia/New Zealand via EVP Recordings. Save that date, I know I will be.

The music video that accompanies this gnarly new track, as you'll see below, shows outsiders what any live Palm show is hopefully like: sweaty fucking chaos. Ride the savage hardcore rollercoaster that is 'Scapegoat' below:
