High chances are you've probably heard music from the members of Better Half over the last couple years, just not under this band's own moniker. Whether you've seen the band's guitarist Joel Adams doing the front of house mix at local shows, vocalist Christopher Vernon playing guitar like a maniac in Belle Haven, drummer Adam Pinzone working behind the kit in Set The Score, to even fellow Set The Score member and guitarist Matt Van Dupen joining UNFD metalcore up and comers Thornhill late last year.

After being formed between Vernon and Van Dupen and entering the world back in 2015 with their debut single 'Reasons To Believe' in the same year, this side-project has always seemingly fallen on the back burner due to the member's other works and commitments. But the collective finger has been pulled out and that's no longer the case. For in some big news for the Melbourne alternative outfit, they've joined the ranks of Polaris and Parkway Drive by signing up with Resist Records, with Better Half set to release their debut EP - 'Maybe I Was Wrong' - on May 11th via the powerhouse Aussie label.

Premiering on Triple J's Short.Fast.Loud last night, Better Half's newest single 'Rest Your Head' gives fans, friends and new listeners a solid first tasting of this upcoming debut EP. Produced and engineered by Better Half themselves, this catchy and emotive track is an ode to being honest with yourself, both parties of a relationship coming to hopefully understand one another's perspectives after the split occurs ("I’m not okay, you’re not okay, and that’s just fine"), as well as just trying to move on and get better over time.

Musically, Better Half takes heavy cues from what Australian bands like Endless Heights were doing a few years back as well as the likes of Citizen, MovementsBasement and various other popular post-hardcore/alternative-rock bands of this decade, but here it's all driven further along by Vernon's distinct vocals and just some really solid songwriting. Which all comes across clear as day on Better Half's latest tune, so go and have a look at it and it's music video (filmed by Belle Haven's Daniel Marinakis) below:
