2017 was a huge year for Brisbane's WAAX, with the band gaining a stronger profile, touring relentlessly and playing festivals like Falls Festival and Yours & Owls all off the back of their highly impressive 'Wild & Weak' EP. Now 2018 is set to be an even bigger year for the five-piece!

Already in 2018, the fastly rising rock band have inked a deal in Australia and New Zealand with Dew Process/Universal Music Australia (Tired Lion, Ecca Vandal), have supported Fall Out Boy on their Australian arena run in February and March, and have also played The Smith Street Band's House Pool Party - all to great success. Then, next month, they'll be helping out another big international act by supporting Biffy Clyro on that band's East Coast Australian tour. Not only that but just as that Bif tour rolls around, WAAX will also have dropped a fresh new single. Titled 'Labrador' - named so after the suburb (but also because Labradors are fucking cute too), their new tune drops on Friday, April 27th. So colour me keen as fuck!
In the meantime, however, be sure to check out two of the band's finest cuts from their solid 'Wild & Weak' EP: 'Same Same' and the title track.
