Here’s a double whammy tour for you all: Canada’s Counterparts and their good friends in New York’s Stray From The Path are teaming up for a co-headline Australian (and New Zealand) tour this April. Fuck yeah!

Both of these bands had a pretty damned good 2017 in their own right, with both acts putting out solid new records in the shape of ‘You’re Not You Anymore’ and ‘Only Death Is Real’ respectively. Arming both bands with new material to offer to Australian punters come the tour in three months time. The former album, our very own Owen Morawitz scored a high 85/100, saying "‘You’re Not You Anymore’ is a succinct summary of everything that Counterparts stand for musically, lyrically and thematically, while also functioning as an encapsulation of the band’s entire back catalogue." As for the latter, I myself also quite liked Stray’s newest LP, stating that "‘Only Death Is Real’ is just the right kind of record to offer a bleak, heavy reflection of the awfully maddening American politics of the now", with a review score of 75/100.

Of course, neither of these two killer acts are strangers to Australian shores as the pair has toured here many times before, cultivating a solid fan base out here in the process. And blimey, they're mostly playing smaller venues such as Melbourne’s Phoenix Youth Centre, Newcastle's Small Ballroom and Perth's Amplifier Bar? Man, this shit is going to go right off.

Honestly, I can't wait for this tour - how about you?
