Simple Plan Announces 15th Year Anniversary Australian Tour

Performing ‘No Pads, No Helmets… Just Balls’ in full.

The French-Canadian pop-punk band who needs no introduction – Simple Plan – have today announced they’ll be bringing their ‘No Pads, No Helmets… Just Balls‘ debut, as part of for their 15th Anniversary World Tour, down to Australia this April for a special run of, yep, you guessed it – East Coast dates.

2002’s debut LP ‘No Pads, No Helmets… Just Balls (the second best Simple Plan album behind 2004’s classic ‘Still Not Getting Any…‘) is a solid pop-punk record, one that’s chock full of some of the band’s best hits; songs that have defined their career like ‘I’d Do Anything‘, ‘Perfect‘, ‘I’m Just A Kid‘ and ‘Addicted‘ and with over 10 million unit sales globally. And now Australian fans – from the adults who were just kids when this record initially dropped to the younger generation of – get their biggest and best chance to hear the band’s debut album in full.

In a statement about this newly revealed tour, SP mentioned that “After releasing our 5th album last year and playing more than 100 shows in over 40 countries, we felt it was important take this opportunity to look back and celebrate the amazing adventure we’ve had as a band and as friends. It felt important to do something special, something we’ve never done before to mark this landmark in our lives. This is why we wanted to do this tour.”

Joining the Canadian band whose posters dotted the rooms of countless teenagers the world over is the pop-punk-band that just won’t quit, Real Friends, who are the main support for this April run. Then, on the local front, Newcastle pop-rockers Eat Your Heart Out will kick things off with their 90’s tinged, grungy-sounding pop-punk. Having recently signed a worldwide deal with Fearless Records and with a solid new EP – ‘Mind Games’ – released last month, EYHO are definitely on the up!
