Mr. Ewald will be playing two headline shows when he arrives in Australia to support Manchester Orchestra.

Having already been confirmed as the main support for the upcoming Manchester Orchestra February tour, Slaughter Beach, Dog - AKA Jake Ewald from Modern Baseball - has announced two special headline shows for what will be his debut Australian tour. Kicking off at Melbourne Yah Yah’s on Thursday, February 1st and Brissy's Crowbar on Wednesday, February, 7th, Ewald will offer material from his debut solo album 'Birdie' in a longer, headlining fashion.

For those not in the know, Slaughter Beach, Dog started out as a side project for Jake Ewald, one of Modern Baseball’s two singers/songwriters. Born out of a dire case of writer's block, the musician used this new project to experiment with writing from the point of view of fictional characters in the fictional town of Slaughter Beach to break off from the ultra-personal technique he’d developed in MoBo.

So after his main band announced their hiatus last year to the tears of many, Slaughter Beach, Dog became Jake's main artistic vehicle, giving him a chance to go all in on developing as a songwriter and as a person. Now free of the restrictions of being in a band with certain expectations already attributed to it and the baggage that can come with such things, 'Birdie' was Jake's introduction to his next chapter. And now its time to take this growing chapter on the road.

Tickets for Slaughter Beach, Dog's two sideshows are on sale now:

THURSDAY 1ST FEBRUARY – YAH YAH’S, MELBOURNE

FRIDAY 7TH, FEBRUARY – CROWBAR, BRISBANE
