Eat Your Heart Out are really going places.

Ever since Newcastle's Eat Your Heart Out released the absolute barn-burner that was 'Patience', I haven't been able to tear said tune from my ears. With a real love for these local pop-punk/alt-rockers deeply ingrained in my heart, the thought of new material from the NSW quintet was both exciting and nerve-wracking at the same. But silly fucking me for doubting them as Eat Your Heart Out really aren't ones to disappoint, as their punchy new single, 'Conscience', whole-heartedly proves.

Granted, this song is nothing that new for the band - but that's more than fine with me for now. Plus, the songwriting here is just as solid as ever, the personalised lyrics of now-dead relationships nails the band's usual levels of honest emotion, and 'Conscience' has got more hooks than a tackle box.

The track also features some solid guest vocals from Patrick Miranda - frontman of fellow Fearless Records peers, Movements - in the song's bridge, delivering as emotional and as intense a vocal delivery as Movements fans would have come to expect from him. It also makes for a great contrast to the soaring, Aussie-tinged vocals of Caitlin Henry as well, and the song is all the better for it.

Eat Your Heart Out's newly announced EP, 'Mind Games', is set to drop on Friday, December 1st via Fearless Records. Personally, I cannot wait for it.
