Brittle Bones are Dead.

Back in May, our pals over at Friends Like Us properly introduced us to Melbourne punk rock outfit, Brittle Bones, with their infectious tune, 'Come Clean', which we were very stoked on to be premiering the music video for at the time. And I was really quite stoked to see just what this band would release next, but alas, that next stage won't ever be reached.

Earlier tonight, the local noise-makers announced that there won't be any more pages written in their book as they're packing up shop, saying:

"Hi guys, Aaron and Chris here.

We are saddened to announce that Brittle Bones have decided to call it a day.

Huge thank you to every single legend that has supported us along the way. We love you all.

Keep an ear out for our individual music projects Night Out On The Tiles and Big Whisky

And we leave you with a final song to bang your heads to (Shot by the fabulous Joshua Redbeard Merriel)

Peace x"

I suppose that whatever work the band recorded at Hot House Studios with Australian engineer Jez Giddings - including 'Come Clean' - won't see the light of the day. There has also been no news of a final show but something tells me there won't be.

However, with this definite proclamation that "Brittle Bones are Dead", the band have offered one last gift - the aptly titled 'Never Coming Home'. After this slower, Southern-tinged, bluesy rock track gets going, it morphs into a scream-heavy moment from vocalist Mayjene Tan whilst guitarists Chris Whale and Aaron Griffiths deliver an almost-stoner/doom riff section; all culminating in a piece that solidly shows off this band's lighter melodic and heavier hardcore sides one last time.

Cheers for the tunes, Brittle Bones!
