Tonight Alive are back!

"'Tonight Alive are back?' What do you mean by that, Alex?" I hear some of you muse. Well, what I meant by that brief opening statement was that the Sydney outfit is back from no longer being fucking awful, plain and simple.

With the release of the group's new single 'Temple' earlier today, Tonight Alive have recaptured what first made them good; honest lyricism, really catchy hooks, and a solid rock foundation.

After their 'World Away' single back in April of this year helped to wash away the taste of utter shite that 2016's 'Limitless' left in many a mouth, 'Temple' capitalises further on that and sees a return to their rock roots. And even with their pop-punk/power-pop days long behind them, this track is still a decent return to form. Moreover, it just sounds like the Aussie band actually had control over their sound and their actual art this time around as opposed to the garbage fire that was 'Limitless'. Which is also, hopefully, the case for their newly announced record, 'Underworld', as a whole.

In a recent press statement sent out today by UNFD and Hopeless Records, singer Jenna McDougall shared that “The album is called Underworld and I named it that because it reflects the ugly parts of me that I wasn't ready to see until now.” So expect this upcoming record to be one cathartic ride!

'Underworld' is available for pre-order via 24Hundred and iTunes, and will drop on January 12th. Tonight Alive will be touring Australia in October and November with The Beautiful Monument, find tickets here. They'll also appear at the sold-out UNIFY in January 2018 - just in time for their new record's release!
