Born from our nation's festering capital city and coming from the ashes of the mighty locals I Exist are newly established groove-makers and riff lords, Mental Cavity.

Following on from I Exist's demise, some of their old band members (namely guitarist/vocalist Aaron Osborne, bassist/vocalist Alex Young, and drummer Simon Murphy) wanted to try their hands at something a bit different, yet with that same old sense of steamrolling heavy obnoxiousness and sense-punishing assault of hardcore, sludge and death metal. Hence Mental Cavity. And such ideals are exactly what this band's debut record, 'Aneurysm', will bring to the table once it drops on October 27th via EVP Recordings; something that the LP's solid first cut, 'Bleak Outlook', shows off in sheer droves.

With their debut self-titled eight-track record quietly making its way into the world back in January, Mental Cavity wasted no time recording its soon-to-be-released follow up with esteemed Australian producer, Mike Deslandes (High Tension, The Nation Blue, Colossvs), one that will hit much louder and harder than their debut did. And I assure you all 'Aneurysm' is bigger, better and more bloodthirsty than what's come before it.

Stream 'Bleak Outlook' below. RIYL new shit like Power Trip, good ol' High On Fire, a little bit of Cursed and Eyehategod, as well as the older, far better sounds of Mastodon.
