Everything about Cold Ground's new single, 'Ascended' - from the gruff vocals, those sweet chorus harmonies, the guitar riffs, the drumming, the punk-jump inducing pace, the wake-up call message of the lyrics - is drenched in a passionate love for 90's punk rock.

On top of all that, 'Ascended' also shows a fair few hints of the modern hardcore sound that these five Melbourne dudes have played in prior bands. (Some readers out there may notice former-Crowned Kings guitarist Adrain Morris among this band's ranks).

Mixed and mastered by U.S. engineer Kyle Black - whose solid CV includes Comeback KidSeawayBroadside, and Greyscale, and that's just for 2017 - Cold Ground's debut LP, titled 'Destroy the Illusion of Peace' is due out sometime later this year or in early 2018. You can pick up the band's split with Wisdom In Chains here. Cold Ground also lent their song, 'Cannot Cut Me Down' to the 'Evil is as Evil Does' compilation release, with all proceeds going directly to Asylum Seeker Resource Centre - a charity supporting refugees on a multitude of levels. Support a good cause and get some cool tunes in the process: it's a win-win.
