The Sinking Teeth, keepin' it real.

Melbourne punk outfit, The Sinking Teeth, do two things very well. The first is creating engaging melodic punk rock in the vein of Hot Water MusicThe Flatliners, and Heartsounds that really strikes a chord with listeners and the second thing is detailing everyday thoughts, feelings, victories, losses and everything else in between with their honest, upfront lyrics. Which is what the trio's latest single 'Vancouver' and its music video nails.

From commuting through the always "joyous" Melbourne traffic, picking up and a loved one and dropping them off at Tullamarine's Terminal 4 so they can go on whatever travels are required, to meeting up with da boys for a rehearsal session, to getting a quick pint before it's off home to feed the rabbit, dick around for a bit and then hit the hay; there's a very homey, very real feeling of everyday life being showed throughout this clip. There's no grand message to the song, no pretentious BS to uncover from these visuals - it's just a 'day in the life' showing basically and I appreciate that kind of simplicity. Well, that, and the infectious chords of the jamming song itself.

'Vancouver' is but the first single to be released from The Sinking Teeth's forthcoming second studio album (due out sometime this year hopefully) and you can check it out below!
