Western Australia has had a damn solid output in terms of heavy music in 2017; with banging new releases from Make Them SufferStatuesSaviourVacant HomeDaybreakIllyria, and with fellow locals Deadspace ready to continue that trend with their upcoming record.

Today, however, Perth produces even more musical goods as The Infinite roll out their latest instrumental prog-fest, 'A View from Nowhere'. The release comes in the form of a guitar playthrough video (filmed by local legend, DarKSpiritPhotography), that showcases the duo's tight skills as well as a gorgeous Perth skyline and Swan River acting as a picturesque backdrop.

For those who don't know, this relatively young instrumental metal project is made up of Make Way For Man's Drew Shepherd and At Depths' Bodine Wirihana. And when these two Perth locals put their heads and guitars together, out flow heavy riffs, polyrhythms, slick solos and technical passages.

Pretty fucking sick, right?

As for a little history on the band, The Infinite was first formed back in 2015, after native instrumental band, Prescient, came to an end. Even with his time still being channelled into Make Way For Man, Shepherd still left that he a lot of unused material dying to be recorded. Saying "fuck it", the guitarist entered the studio and begin recording the material by himself as well as recording drums, guitars and bass for the first single, ‘Autonomy’, which dropped back in May 2016. Of course, a one-man project can be a very lonely yet also very busy experience and so earlier this year, Wirihana joined the band and brought a new style and a new set of ideas to help his new band mate flesh out this metal project even further.

With that in mind, be sure to keep a close eye on these two from here on in...
