And they have a new EP on the way!

Some very big news coming from the Perth heavy-hitters today!

At last year's Invasion Fest in Melbourne, one of the most astonishing and brutal sets of the day was Western Australia's Cursed Earth. The hardcore band used their fuckin' solid half hour set to prove to any and all watching why they're worthy of being one of the most talked about heavy bands coming up in Australia right now. Yet much like U.S. bands Code Orange and Knocked Loose, the "underground" world can only contain the energy and scope of certain bands for so long before the ceiling must be broken. That is the exact moment in time that we now find Cursed Earth at.

The WA band are moving on from Brisbane's Death's Grip Records and have now signed up with UNFD for worldwide releases; news which was more or less quietly let out of the bag when they announced their fast-approaching tour. Under UNFD, and following on from last year's immense 'Enslaved By The Insignificant' LP, the Perth pummelers will soon be offering another crushing release - 'Cycles of Grief Volume 1: Growth'.

This new five-track EP will be as dark, as unflinching and as heavy as anyone would expect from the band. Today, the group released the EP's opening two songs, 'War March' and 'Broken' together as one dark and heavy single, which will be followed up on this forthcoming release by 'Discarded', 'Sanctioned Violence', and 'Violated'. And if 'War March/Broken' is anything to go by, then those remaining three tunes are bound to be just as wicked.

Once more tackling the bleak topic of our species cyclic violent nature and the human condition, guitarist Kieran Molloy stated that "The story of Cycles of Grief documents the collision of nature and nurture", and that "It's an unprejudiced look into the intergenerational nature of coldness, addiction and violence." And look, I'd expect nothing else from Cursed Earth, tonally speaking. Moreover, this EP will also be thematically covering topics such as isolation, brutality, hopelessness, personal accountability, all with an omnipresent sense of grief found throughout.

Cursed Earth's 'Cycles of Grief Volume 1: Growth' will drop like a crushing Atom bomb on Friday, August 4th via UNFD and let's all cross our fingers and hope that we see Volume 2 also drop in 2017!
