Noisy and unpredictable American musical duo ’68 - frontman Josh Scogin and drummer Michael McClellan - will release their forthcoming album 'Two Parts Viper' on Friday, June 2nd via Cooking Vinyl Australia. And just a month on from that brand new record dropping, the band will be doing a chaotic headline stint around Australia in July!

This new 10-track record of theirs - which follows up 2014's blistering 'In Humor and Sadness' - channels everything from the intensity of bands like At The Drive-In, to creating some strong Queens Of The Stone Age vibes, to an overall setup similar to that of The Black Keys; though, their music shares very few similarities with The Black Keys, mind you. Much like their debut record, expect this new one full-length to be a noisy and loud rock record that will be both unpredictable and slightly experimental release; one that's bound to keep you on your toes.

In a press release sent out today, vocalist Josh Scogin explains the thought process and creation of the album's newly released songs - 'This Life Is Old, New, Borrowed And Blue' (which you can stream below) and 'The Workers Are Few'. Speaking of the former song, he said: “This is the very first song I wrote for the album. It definitely ‘connects’ more with my past than any of the other songs, so much so, that it almost didn't make it into the album. It is one of my favorite jams but I had decided that if the other 9 songs didn't balance it out a bit was going to leave it behind. I'm really glad I didn't have to."

Then adding on that latter track that, Scogin states “This was one of the last songs I wrote for the album. Although the lyrics are very negative, this song makes me smile because it is unlike anything I have ever written before. That’s always a good feeling. It is very therapeutic.”

The two-piece band will make their way through Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney, Newcastle and Brisbane, and joining them on all Aussie dates will be the dulcet tones of Kansas City's own Listener. Local supports are yet to be announced, of course.
