There's plenty of news coming out of The Stranger camp tonight.

There's plenty of news coming out of The Stranger camp tonight.

There is no doubt that new and upcoming Brisbane prog-metal outfit, The Stranger, are highly proficient musicians.

A single listen their recent debut record presents that fact within the release's opening eight-minute journey of a song, 'Quantum Entanglement'. That ultimately solid record dropped a little while ago on April 21st, but roaring out from The Stranger camp tonight comes the release of a new live 22-minute session film clip.

In this tightly performed live recorded video, the Queensland quintet runs through select songs from their debut album; the punishing 'The Whip', 'Divine Intervention' and album's grand ten-minute closer, 'In the Mire'. Which are, for our money, three of their best songs too!

This new live playthrough clip was recorded, mixed and mastered by the band's own guitarist Kalen Austin, and was filmed and edited by one our personal favourite cameramen in Australia right now, Adrian Goleby (whose worked wth Osaka Punch, Jack The Stripper, Orsome Wells, Interim, and many others).

Now, on top of this new video release and seemingly giving punters a taste of what's to come later this month, there's another announcement to come from The Stranger; the band's seven date tour running up and down the East Coast this May.

The tour kicks off on May 13th at The Zoo in Brisbane with the band providing a fitting support slot to Perth prog-lads Voyager and France's best heavy video game soundtrack act, The Algorithm. Suss more info for that particular show right here and be sure to check out the remaining dates of the group's first ever tour below to find out when they're rolling through your neck of the woods this May.
