Of Mice & Men continue on without Austin Carlile with their newest single, 'Unbreakable'.

Since the departure of vocalist Austin Carlile, whose ongoing medical struggles with Marfan syndrome forced him to quit the band late last year, many have wondered just what's actually going to come from Of Mice & Men now. Some will have decried that the band should have folded once Carlile left - as let's be honest, he was the sole focal point of the band and the member most people cared about or noticed - whereas many other fans were curious if also cautious about the direction and sound of their following material.

Enter new single, the fittingly titled 'Unbreakable', a somewhat safe track that more or less steps away from the sound of 2016's 'Cold World'.

As for Carlile's replacement, that hefty duty now falls to longtime bassist Aaron Pauley, who many will remember as the previous frontman of the Jamie's Elsewhere, who joined OM&M in 2012. How does the bassist compare to his former bandmate? Well, while he may never quite become the widely beloved figure nor have the same social media presence as Carlile, Pauley fills the vocalist position quite well; in both his screaming and his singing. Of course, guitarists Alan Ashby and Phil Manansala, and the band's eccentric drummer Valentino Arteaga still remain in the band, staying true to their prior words of continuing on as a four-piece band.

In a press release sent out recently, new frontman Pauley had a few words to share on 'Unbreakable', saying:

"We're incredibly excited for the world to hear our brand new song, ‘Unbreakable,’ which is all about staring fear in the face, overcoming fear's ability to keep you stagnant, and telling it where it stands. Through this transitional time, we've felt the tremendous outpouring of love, encouragement, and support from our fans around the world, and we can't wait to see you all soon. None of this would be possible without you, and we thank you all, endlessly."

'Unbreakable' was recorded with Grammy-nominated producer Howard Benson (Sepultura, My Chemical Romance, and far too many bands to mention or count), was mixed by old mate Chris Lord-Alge (Deftones, Muse, and most big rock bands of the past two decades) and was then mastered by Chris Athens (Drake, Ozzy Osbourne).
