Don't worry, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus won't be faking anything come this May.

Man, nostalgia is really hitting us all like a fucking freight train these days, ain't it?

The main hint that promoter Destroy All Lines gave over social media yesterday regarding a new tour announcement was "Which alternative rock/post-hardcore outfit is bringing their 10th anniversary album shows to Australia this May? The album was released in 2006, so don't look at 2007 options".

Well, a few people made some good guesses like AFI and Thursday. Someone said Rise Against (I wouldn't call them post-hardcore or alt-rock, but whatever), and then a couple joke comments came up of Nickelback and Korn. But a handful of people were bang on the money with one particular guess - The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus.

This Florida quintet will be returning to Australia for the first time since 2013 come May to tour in full their debut record, 2006's 'Don't You Fake It'; a record that has a special place in many listeners hearts, and is easily one of the band's best releases, if not the best. It also spawned some of their best songs too, songs such as 'In Fate's Hands' or 'Atrophy'. And, oh yeah, the fan-favourite banger 'Face Down' too!

I've often wondered how bands must feel with these kinds of anniversary tours, as they are essentially promoting an old album of theirs and almost undercutting any of their new material. But maybe this is a good thing in the case of The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, as their last full-length release was '4', which actually came out back in 2014, with no follow-up releases currently announced. Now, I didn't know that '4' existed until I wrote this article...and I'm sure that I'm not alone in that either. But going back to their debut album for this upcoming Aussie tour is a very safe bet for the band; regardless of their later and, shall we say, more forgettable releases.

Anyway, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus will be suitably supported by Brisbane's best and brightest, Young Lions - who are great live. Be sure to rock up early to see their set in full.
