Aw, shit man.

Earlier this evening, Hacktivist announce the departure of founding member and co-vocalist, Ben MarvinMarvin has been an integral piece of Hacktivist's puzzle, both on-stage and in the studio environment since the band’s inception. His vocals and lyrics were key in complementing the rapping of co-vocalist Jermaine Hurley's and guitarist Timfy James' cleans, acted as their screamer in many songs, and I think it's very safe to say that the band would have never been the same without his inclusion.

With the announcement of his departure, the co-vocalist said that his "time in Hacktivist has been sick! Big up all the fans across the world and the rest of the band for making this possible. One love.” The band have also stated that they "want to wish Ben all the best for his future endeavours. Hacktivist won't be the same without him and we will all miss him. But this is also a new beginning for H, and we're looking forward to the next chapter.”

Gun to my head, if I had to pick the best Ben Marvin part in any Hacktivist song, it would have to be his sick verse in 'False Idols'. Hands down.

As for when he bows out, Marvin will be official leaving at the end of the month following the hometown headline show at Milton Keynes’ Craufurd Arms (January 29th) to mark Independent Venue Week. What comes next for Hacktivist boys isn't clear right now, but a replacement for the vocalist will be hunted down, secured, and announced in the near future. It'll be very interesting to see where these guys go from here on in.

The future is unwritten.

Hacktivist's new EP, 'Over-Throne' is out now via UNFD.
