With their lively brand of enthusiastic alt-rock, Adelaide's Horror My Friend are a few beers, couple inches of hair and a few thousand fans short of being Violent Soho or DZ Deathrays.

But we've all gotta start somewhere and work our way for our achievements and accolades and that's just what this trio - consisting of Josh Battersby, Tom Gordon and Sam Kolesnik - are working towards with their latest single, 'DIYS', which will also see the band touring nationally next month.

'DIYS' is their first single since the release of their debut album 'Stay In, Do Nothing' (which sounds like my Saturdays) and it lands on physical and digital stands this Friday (today!) via Poison City Records. With a suitable amount of delay and reverb on the vocals, this new single hits like a warm, catchy right hook to the proverbial face, all with a strong radio-friendly appeal that I'm sure good ol' Triple J will lap up like a thirsty man finding water. It is good shit is what I'm getting at here.

Also, random fact: 'DIYS' apparently stands for 'Drowning In Your Sea'. I don't really know what to say about that, apart from the fact that it sounds like baby's first emo lyrics.
