Melbourne’s Boris The Blade are taking no prisoners with their newest single, ‘Warpath‘.
It’s been a couple years since Boris The Blade’s damn solid full-length ‘The Human Hive‘ was unleashed. But after some hibernation, a handful of headline shows and a year that saw the band supporting Suicide Silence on their national run in September, ending 2016 with a new single was indeed the right move to help give the band some solid momentum heading into 2017. Which they should hopefully be able to capitalise on with their new full-length album, also titled ‘Warpath‘, dropping early next year on January 27th.
When speaking with bassist Coby Chatz a couple months back, the bassist told us that the band are still heavy, but that they’re trying to branch out into heavy styles of music, saying:
“We’ve definitely gone for a different approach. They’re still very heavy, but our singer Sharpy (Daniel Sharp) has been experimenting with some nu-metal stuff, even some heavy rap sections. There are softer songs as well that we normally wouldn’t play, compared to the EP and the first album. Josh Lording, our main songwriter, has been experimenting with lots of different things. It’s all coming together pretty well!”
Well, I guess we will all find out come January 27th!
You can stream the new single/music video below, and as you may expect, it’s heavy as fuck.
